Sydostleden erbjuder dig en omväxlande naturupplevelse från cykelsadeln. Välj att börja turen i de småländska skogarna i norr, längs med kusten i söder, eller hoppa upp på cykeln vid valfri plats utmed leden.
The Sydostleden Bicycle Route stretches through the provinces of Småland, Blekinge and Skåne, allowing you to experience a wide variety of nature from the seat of your bicycle. In the north, forests, lakes and meadows dominate the landscape. There is plenty of space for everyone to find peace and quiet.
You cycle alongside the flowing waters of the Mörrumså River toward a more open landscape. Further south, the sea is never far away. Cliffs and rocks characterise the Blekinge Archipelago, which consists of a few large islands and smaller, rocky islets and skerries. And in east Skåne you cycle near sandy beaches and open sea.
The open and highly fertile plain surrounding the city of Kristianstad transitions as you cycle to Österlen in the south, where farmlands dominate the many rolling hills. In addition to the constantly shifting natural environment that you pass on your cycling adventure, you will also have an opportunity to see and visit several cities, towns and smaller communities. Here are a few of the gems that you simply must take in along the way: Åsnen – Sweden’s next national park in the planning; Kronolaxfiske on the Mörrumså River, a mecca for sport fishing enthusiasts and conservationists alike; the Blekinge Archipelago; Kristianstads Vattenrike, a UNESCO designated biosphere reserve; and Stenshuvud National Park.

Sydostleden takes you closer to nature.
The Sydostleden Trail runs through three provinces (Småland, Blekinge, Skåne) and nine municipalities (Växjö, Tingsryd, Olofström, Karlshamn, Sölvesborg, Bromölla, Kristianstad, Tomelilla, Simrishamn). Overall responsibility for organisation of the entire 270 kilometres of trail and for a unified marketing strategy has been assigned to one principal – Region Skåne. Region Skåne is responsible for driving the development of the Sydostleden Trail together with other regions and municipalities with regards to infrastructure, development of destinations, and trail marketing nationally and internationally.
Operation and maintenance of the trail falls to the respective public authorities responsible for roads. Trafikverket (the Swedish Transport Administration) is the state agency responsible for planning and maintaining the national road network, while each municipality maintains the roads within its jurisdiction and in some cases even private roads.
